An advertising campaign to invite new visitors to the gallery with the slogan 'inspiring art in a spectacular location'.

Background
Tate St. Ives is a contemporary, modern art gallery in Cornwall. Perched above Porthmeor Beach it features some world renowned artists such as Piet Mondrian, Mark Rothko, Pablo Picasso and Barbara Hepworth. The gallery had recently expanded with a new contemporary extension and twice its former exhibition space and commissioned an advertising campaign to bring in new visitors.  The outcome had to be broad in appeal to attract their wide target audience (adults, pensioners, tourists and locals), and communicate key messages simply and quickly in order to be seen by foot and  vehicular traffic.

The outcome is simple yet bold and playful. A clear wordplay ‘See Art’  is juxtaposed over images that reference the key message of inspiring art at a beautiful seaside location, mirrored  across a horizontal plane. The concept was executed via print and digital assets.
